Warren handles Fort LeBoeuf in Region 5 girls volleyball
FORT LeBOEUF — Warren needed four sets, but beat Fort LeBoeuf 25-15, 18-25, 25-18, 25-18 in Region 5 girls volleyball Thursday.
Madelyn Nosel had 18 kills and 11 digs; Brynn Norris notched 38 assists and three blocks; Attie Corey had eight kills; and Malysia Sorensen totaled 18 digs and two aces for the Dragons.
“We played three pretty nice sets (and one not so great) where we did a nice job staying on the attack,” Warren head coach Mike Dolan said. “We covered well and blocked well as the offense is still working to find its rhythm.”
Hailey Cabisca recorded 10 kills and two aces; Paiden Johnson had four digs and three aces; Peyton Wotorson earned four kills and three digs; and Addison Ristau added five digs for Warren.
“Hailey Cabisca took some really nice swings as Brynn Norris delivered her some nice balls. Her consistency is improving every game,” Dolan said. “Madelyn Nosel also came through big time. It’s a good win on the road against one of the best teams in the region.”
In jayvee play, the Bisons defeated the Dragons 25-9, 25-22.
Tia French had seven digs; Lara Pearson tallied two digs and a kill; Kelsey Johnson added two kills; Grace Schwab had a kill and a block; Michaela Dolan contributed three aces and five assists; and Maddy Snell rounded out the stat sheet with three digs.
Warren’s next matchup is Tuesday when it hosts the General McLane Lancers at Warren Area High School for a 6 p.m. jayvee start with varsity to follow at 7:15.
