HERMITAGE — The Eisenhower cross country teams traveled to compete in the annual Blue Devil Invitational on Saturday at Buhl Park.

“Our kids ran well on Saturday and continue to improve,” Eisenhower head coach Darlene Beach said. “We didn’t compete here last year, and with a lot of new faces on the varsity team, this was the first time for them running the 5K course at Buhl Park.”

Strong performances from the Eisenhower varsity girls were turned in by Laney Belcher (22:13) and Izzy Grosch (22:23), which earned them 39th and 46th place as well as a medal, respectively. Lainey Font (24:40), Bryn Lindell (26:29), Addy Britt (29:53) and Haley Ferrie (29:54) also ran well for the Knights. The girls finished 14th overall out of 17 teams.

On the boys varsity side, Parker McBride (18:45) was the top runner for the Knights finishing 62nd overall. Joseph Fanelli (19:10), Alex Lund (19:19) and Mason Britt (19:21) finished only seconds between each other. Rounding out the Knights were Brice Ludwick (20:40) and Jonathan Bogniak (26:55), who helped the boys squad to a 15th place finish out of 24 teams competing.

In junior high action, Josie Elms (10:12) had another strong performance finishing ninth overall, with Kaylee Ferino (11:19) earning a medal as well. Hanna Lund (11:41) and Naveen Mead (13:08) continue to improve on the season.
