Warren volleyball wins on road
GUYS MILLS — Warren volleyball coach Mike Dolan said his team “showed some grit” Tuesday in a volleyball match with Maplewood.
It helped produce a victory, too.
Madelyn Nosel collected 16 kills and 13 digs, and Brynn Norris added 47 assists and 12 digs to highlight the Dragons’ 20-25, 25-15, 25-17, 27-25 victory over Maplewood.
Attie Corey chipped in 11 kills and two aces; Brooke Sherry had nine kills; Malysia Sorensen had 23 digs; and Julia Getner added five kills and two blocks to the winning effort.
“The varsity showed some grit coming back after a tough first set to play really good in sets two and three,” Dolan said. “In set four, we hung tough and found a way to pull it out. Good to get a win against a very strong Maplewood team on the road.”
In the junior varsity match, Warren prevailed 11-25, 26-24, 18-16.
Lara Pearson led the way with five kills, 10 digs and two aces; Addison Brown had 13 assists; Hailey Cabisca added four kills and eight digs; Grace Schwab collected two kills; Kendall Skerda had three kills; and Maddy Snell chipped in five digs.
