Lady Dragons 10th at Hickory Invite
WEST MIDDLESEX — Warren’s girls golf team finished 10th on Friday at the Hickory Invitational at Oak Tree Golf Course.
“The girls played on another very hot day off of the gold tees instead of the usual red tees, and this was the first time that the girls ever played at this course, making it more challenging since you need to know where to place your shots to mitigate the many ponds, trees, ditches and hazards which were often hidden from sight,” said Warren coach Scott Pearson.
The top three scorers from each team were used to calculate the team scores with Fairview winning ahead of West Middlesex and the Canfield “Black” team.
Top Individual scores were Cassidy Conn (71) from Ft. LeBoeuf, Cora Hirz (72) from Fairview and Kate Sowers (74) from West Middlesex. There were a total of 59 players competing and the Warren girls were led by Elissa Errett, tying for 28th place with an 18-hole 92, Kate Shippee finishing 30th with 93, Alanna Warrior finishing 52nd with a score of 122, and Alyssa Reichle finishing 58th with a score of 131.
The next match is an away region mega match at Ft. LeBoeuf on Thursday.
