Golf leagues

WARREN — Jim Lester scored a hole-in-one on the 132-yard 12th hole at Jackson Valley Golf Course during the Tuesday Night League at Jackson Valley Golf Course.

Playing for the JVGC Kitchen, Lester used a 5-wood to record the ace, which was witnessed by Tim Rosequist and Nate Reynolds. It was Lester’s first-ever hole-in-one.

Meanwhile, Sons of the Legion holds down first place with 157 points in the Tuesday Night League at Jackson Valley Golf Course.

The other top-five teams are Dickey’s Duffers 151, Awesome 4-Some 150, Davies & Sons 149.5 and Dude, Where’s My Par 149.

Steve Chapel 9-0, Chet Loomis 8.5, Ed Streich 8.5 and Troy Hyman were the individual high points winners; low gross leaders on the front 9 were Brett Johnson 40, Mike Moyer Jr. 40 and Brandon Franklin 40; low gross leaders on the back nine was Rob Ritchie 36; low gross on the senior front nine were Tom Moyer 37, Larry Salapek 37 and Jim Munksgard 37; and low gross on the senior back nine were Billy Joe Anderson 39, John Sabat 39 and Mark Silvis 39.

Among net scores, Chase Elmquist, Jeremy Blymiller and Steve Crissey each shot a 34 on the front nine; Timber Bower and Matt Johnson both had a 33 on the back nine; Streich shot a 30 on the senior front nine; and Jay Loomis and Scott Saber both recorded a 33 on the senior back nine.

LAKEWOOD, N.Y. — Tim Sandberg fired a 34 for low-gross honors in the Youngsville Senior League at Maplehurst Country Club.

Other gross scores were John Blum 37, Wayne Forcier 37 and Jon Steffan 39.

Topping the net scores were Forcier 32, Sandberg 32, Doc Young 32, Gary Chuzie 33, John Meleen 33, Mike Peyton 33, Marty Yucha 33 and Blum 34.

Don Melson recorded an eagle on No. 6; Blum and Sandberg collected three birdies apiece; Forcier and Juan Torres had two birdies each; Neil Himber, Art Ward, Doug Wheeler, Rod Korbar, Peyton, Yucha, Bob Stevens and Ron Davidson all had one birdie; and Torres was closest to the pin on No. 3.

Trap Leagues

Pine Grove won the Warren County Trap League shoot-off, edging Sheffield by a single target 336-335.

Jerry Martin of Pine Grove had the only perfect 50.

The league Field Day will be held on Saturday, Sept. 6 at Corry.
