Golf leagues
The team of Sherry Johnson and Kim Johnson shot a net 27 to lead the way in the Monday Night Ladies Scramble League at Jackson Valley Golf Course.
Michelle Williams and Dana Williams shot a 28 while April Tharp and Donna McDonald fired a 29.

LAKEWOOD, N.Y. — John Blum, Tim Sandberg and Juan Torres all shot a 38 for low-gross honors in the Youngsville Senior League at Maplehurst Country Club.
Other gross scores were Pete Hofert 40, Bill Gross 41, Art Ward 41, Wayne Forcier 41 and Rod Korbar 41.
Steve Kikitas and Dick Stout recorded the low net with 31 apiece.
Other net scores were Torres 32, Bob Downey 32, John Urbanik 32, Marty Yucha 32, Hofert 33, Ron Craker 33 and Al Ludwick 33.
Torres and Ron Holmes registered two birdies apiece; Blum, Gross, Korbar, Nikitas, WArd, Luwick, Fred Carder, Jim Chapman and Joe Cerrie all had one birdie; and Marty Yucha had the longest putt on No. 9.

RUSSELL — Arthur Stewart’s gross 34 and a 28 by both Pete Hofert and Mike Cole highlighted Week 12 of the Senior Men’s League at Cable Hollow Golf Course.
Glenn Eck, Ross Cali and Paul Edson had the most points with 8.0; Stewart and Jim Fiscus had two birdies apiece; Hofert, Stewart, Cole and Gary Bjorkquist registered the most pars; and Bjorkquist was the individual points leader with 72.5.

Rob Ritchie led on the front nine with a 34 and Rick Gignac led on the back nine with a 36 during the Tuesday Night League at Jackson Valley Golf Course.
For the seniors, Tom Moyer and Mark Silvis shot 34s on the front nine while Chet Loomis shot a 34 on the back nine.
Shay Font shot the low net on the front nine with a 31 and Timber Bower had a 30 on the back nine. For the seniors, Doug Johnson had a 39 on the front nine and Jay Loomis had a 31 on the back nine.
Johnson accumulated the most points with 9, followed by Tom Fales and Matt Johnson with 8 apiece. Jason Rafalski, Chet Loomis, Fred Franklin and Shay Font each accumulated 7.5 points.
Awesome 4-Some leads the team standings with 111 points, followed by Dickey’s Duffers (109), Sons of the Legion (107), Davies & Sons (105.5), Financial (105), Shaw House (105) and Huey’s Place (105).
Trap leagues
This week in the Warren County Trap League, Pine Grove outgunned Brokenstraw 345-327, Tidioute topped Corry 344-329, Sugar Grove downed Kalbfus 328-315 and Sheffield scored 342 during its bye week.
Perfect 50s were shot by Pine Grove’s Brian Wingerter and Ray Lee, Tidioute’s Brian Mitchell and Ken Anderson, Sugar Grove’s Austin Anderson and Sheffield’s Adam Watson — his first perfect 50 in the league.
Alainah Ginkel of Pine Grove had her first 25 straight.
Pine Grove’s Cindy Cable was High Lady with a 48. Pine Grove’s K.C. Johnson was High Jr. with a 49. Ginkel was High Sub Jr. with a 49. Tidioute’s Joel Stewart was High Veteran with a 49. Pine Grove’s Jerry Martin and Kev Sturzenbecker tied Corry’s Harold Linden for High Sr. Veteran with 49s. Lee and Anderson tied for High Super Sr. Veteran with their 50s.

Fall baseball
FREWSBURG, N.Y. — Frewsburg will be hosting a Fall Baseball League for kids currently Little League aged 8-11 (aged 9-12 for 2026 LL).
Ages are based on the 2026 season and the league will follow Major Division rules. The league is open to all surrounding school districts and towns.
The season starts Aug. 24 and ends Oct. 5. All games are at Carroll Town Park in Frewsburg. Game times are Sundays at 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Registration is $65 and includes a T-shirt. Signups for players and coaches are open Aug. 1-11.

Oldtimers baseball
The Jamestown & Area Oldtimers scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to defeat Greenville, 6-5, on Saturday in 50+ baseball at Old Legion Field in North Warren.
Trailing 5-3, Brian Ferry reached on an infield hit with the bases loaded and two outs, and teammate Rick Prindle scored all the way from second when the throw by the first baseman got by the pitcher covering first.
Ferry and Chris Yost had two hits each and Jason Ostram doubled for the winners.
Winnie Woodward started and threw two innings and Ed Baldensperger got the win in relief with five innings of one-run ball.
