JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — Red-hot Jamestown captured its ninth win in its last 10 games with a doubleheader sweep of Geneva in Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League action at Diethrick Park on Sunday.

In the first game, Eric Weeks’ two-run home run was all the runs the Tarp Skunks would need in a 4-1 victory. Christian Pencek scattered four hits, struck out six and walked two in six innings to improve his record to 3-1.

Brady Marshall added two hits, including a triple, and drove in a run; Ben Slanker drilled a double; and Nathan Borchardt added a hit and an RBI. Eddie Dolansky pitched a perfect seventh inning to earn his second save.

Aiken Santana drove in the lone run for Geneva, which came in the sixth inning. Dawson Thomas (0-5) took the loss.

In the nightcap, an 8-2 Jamestown win, Nick Ianniello won his sixth game without a loss. In four innings, he surrendered five hits, struck out three and didn’t issue a walk. Jack Bracken, Matthew Frye and Brenden Kline worked in relief.

The Tarp Skunks (21-11), who are now in sole possession of second place in the West Division and trail first-place Batavia (22-9-1) by a game and a half, were led offensively by Slanker, who collected three hits, including a double, and a pair of RBIs. Marshall (double) also had two hits and an RBI; Borchardt (double) drove in two runs; as did Weeks. Blake Herman drove in one run.

Braden Freeman and Chase Fogg had two hits apiece for the Red Wings (7-25). Ian Babey (0-1), one of four Red Wings’ pitchers, took the loss.

Jamestown is off today, will travel to Newark on Tuesday and to Niagara Falls on Wednesday before returning home Thursday for a 6:30 p.m. game, also against Niagara Falls.

Starting at $3.50/week.
