The Kinzua Soccer Club U13 coed tournament team won the U13 boys division bracket from June 13-15 at the PA West Open Tournament at Edinboro University. Kinzua scored 13 goals, allowing none, in 4 1/2 games, including against teams from Upper St. Clair, Chartiers Valley, and Butler; there was a rain delay on Saturday that shortened one game. Kinzua’s Ashton Carrington was voted “Teammate of the Tournament” by his teammates and coaches “for his hard work on the defensive line,” according to coach James Warner. “He played to his fullest and was a huge part of the team’s success. I can’t say enough about how proud I am of these kids and what they’ve accomplished. They’re fun to watch because of how well they work together, and it’s an honor and a privilege just to be a part of it.
