Tarp Skunks pound out 19 hits in win

NEWARK, N.Y. — Now into his second full week in the 2025 Perfect Game Baseball League season, Justin Bremner feels right at home.

Jamestown manager Frank Jagoda III has to be thrilled.

The outfielder from Canisius College continued his torrid hitting Thursday night, collecting three hits and driving in four runs to lead the Tarp Skunks to a 13-8 victory over Newark.

The win raised Jamestown’s record to 4-3 in the Western Division, while the Pilots dropped to a 4-1-1.

The Tarp Skunks return home for a 6:30 p.m. today against Geneva (0-6).

If Bremener is in the lineup, look out.

He led a 19-hit attack that also included three hits from Eric Weeks and Matthew Dumas, and two apiece from Dom Costello, Nathan Borchardt and Brady Marshall. Marshall, Dumas and Brady McGuire all drove in a pair of runs, while Nolan Smith, Joaquin Rodriguez-Costa and Weeks had one RBI apiece.

Tied at 5-5 after five innings, Jamestown erupted for six runs in the sixth inning and two more in the seventh, which turned out to be enough.

Newark collected 14 hits, including four from Casey Wensley, and two apiece from Brady King, Andy Hector (three RBIs).

Eddie Dolansky, one of four Jamestown pitchers, was credited with the win. Six different pitchers took the mound for Newark.
