After five seasons, Warren Area High School varsity softball coach Carissa Stuart has stepped down.
During those seasons — the first actually being the 2020 spring season canceled due to COVID, her daughters have pitched for the Lady Dragons every year, and both Kelsey Stuart and Alana Stuart were voted multiple-time region all-stars.
Kelsey Stuart was named Region 5 co-Pitcher of the Year as a senior in 2021 for the 14-4 Dragons, Carissa Stuart’s first season as head coach. Kelsey later played for Penn State DuBois.
Kelsey’s little sister, Alana (a four-year starting pitcher), will play for Division I Mercyhurst University beginning this fall.
“I would like to thank everyone for their support,” said Carissa Stuart, whose Dragons won 45 games and made the playoffs three times in five seasons. “It was an absolute pleasure to be part of such a great program. I wish the program and the new coaching staff the best of luck going forward.”
The Lady Dragons graduate two seniors from an 8-11 regular season.
