Warren’s No. 1 singles player, Strandburg — a four-year starter with over 60 wins — was voted to the second singles all-star team by the region’s coaches.

Warren’s top doubles team, seniors Lynds and Scott finished 15-3 this season. They were voted to the second doubles team by the region’s coaches.

After bumping up from Class 2A to 3A, the Dragons finished 10-3 overall after joining a region that included Cathedral Prep, McDowell, and Fairview. Warren also won the Tri-County Tennis Tournament at Buhl Park in Sharon for the third straight year.

“We are extremely proud of our boys this season and I couldn’t think of three more deserving than Adam, Jack and Ben,” said Warren coach Thomas Pellegrino. “They were true leaders on and off the court and consistently notched key wins for us in big matches not only this season, but over the years. They are a key reason why our team has been a D10 contender year after year and were the driving force to get us into two D10 finals over the last three seasons.

“Strandburg ends with over 60 career wins starting in every position in the lineup over the past four years and becoming one of the best tennis players to ever come through the program,” said the coach. “Lynds and Scott were the heartbeat of our team the last two seasons and set the tone in every matchup, each providing over 30 wins over the last two seasons and were a dominant force across our doubles teams.

“Losing this group of seniors will be tough, but the standard they set through their work ethic, leadership, and love for the game has laid a strong foundation for our underclassmen to build on for years to come,” he said.
