STONEBORO — Youngsville beat the rain, but couldn’t overcome Lakeview during an 8-0 softball loss on Monday.

The Lady Eagles were in search of their fourth win of the season and had base runners in five of the seven innings, but were unable to produce any runs.

Kennedy Allen had a big day at the plate, finishing 2-for-3 with a pair of long doubles. Teammate Alyssa Gentz added a double, and Kamden Swearingen and Hailey Gray added singles.

Freshman Sophia DePasquale got her first varsity start and played strong defense at third base, according to Youngsville coach Neal Kent.

Youngsville is back in action today when it hosts Mercyhurst Prep. The Eagles defeated the Lakers 21-0 earlier this season.
