Warren’s track teams swept visiting Kane on Tuesday on Senior Day at War Memorial Field to finish undefeated in the regular season.
“Today was the end of our regular season and it’s a great feeling to say that both our boys and our girls teams finish the season undefeated,” said Warren coach Kevin Dustin of the boys’ 100-49 win and the girls’ 110-39 victory. “At the start of the season, we set our goals high for region matchups and wanted to go through that group of teams without a loss and added some non-region competition to the list as well. It’s a great accomplishment for these kids. They are such a great group of individuals and an even better team. As a coaching staff, we are very proud of them.”
We believed in them and they pulled off a great season. Today, we added several kids to the list of district qualifiers and now have more kids than ever set to compete at the D10 Championships. It was a great way to end the regular season and now we set our sights to the post-season.”
For Warren’s boys on Tuesday, in addition to winning all three relays, senior Sam Lindell again won multiple events, the 800 meters (2:09.04) and 1,600 (4:41.79), and Max Spiegel won long jump (18-2) and high jump (6-3). Other winners were Cole Fitzgerald (pole vault), Landen Pritzl (discus), Grayson Collopy (3,200), and Cam Williams (300 hurdles).
For the Lady Dragons, in addition to all three relays, Adison Cullers won the 110 (17.84) and 300 hurdles (50.54), Lilly Newton the high jump (5-03) and 800 (2:30.42) and Lindsay Madigan 100h (13.39) and triple jump (34-00.25). Other winners included Morgan Alexander (1,600), Madelyn Nosel (200), Emma Peterson (3,200), Tia French (long jump) and Gracie Page (pole vault).
