Old Timers drop pair
POLAND, Ohio — The Jamestown & Area Old Timers Baseball Club kicked off its 2025 season on Sunday with two close losses at Salem Romeo Concrete at Poland High School.
The Old Timers consist of players ages 46 and older from the Jamestown, N.Y., and Warren areas.
In a season-opening 14-12 loss, Jamestown’s Ron Thomas had three hits and Rick Prindle and Glenn Morse added doubles and each had two hits and reached base three times. Ed Baldensperger and Troy Johnson pitched for Jamestown.
In a 7-4 loss in the second game, Prindle had two more hits and reached base three more times from the leadoff spot. Winston Woodard threw a complete game for Jamestown.
The Old Timers continue their season with a doubleheader on Sunday at the Warren Eagles in Warren, Ohio.
