Knight track teams turn in highlight performances

WATTSBURG — Despite dropping both the girls and boys competition against Seneca on Monday, Eisenhower’s track & field teams still had plenty of highlights with four boys qualifying for districts with their performances.

Teammates Easton Fitzgerald and Joe Mistretta each qualified for districts in the 200 meters while Ryan Chambers wrapped up his spot in the 100 and JE Unida qualified in the triple jump.

The Knights were defeated 86-60 in the boys competition. Despite the setback, the Knights had plenty of winners on Monday, led by Mistretta who was a two-time winner. Mistretta won the 400 with a run of 52.9 seconds and joined Joe Gigliotti, Michael Palmieri and Isaiah Reagle to win the 4×800 relay in 10:13.3.

Fitzgerald won the 200 with a time of 24.0 seconds, Bryceton Wilkins won the high jump by clearing 5 feet, 6 inches and Ryan Huck was the winner in the javelin with a throw of 120-3.

On the girls side, Eisenhower was defeated by a 95-51 margin.

Peyton Kellogg and Emily Grosch were the lone double winners for the Lady Knights. Kellogg had an individual win in the 1,600 (6:01.9) with Grosch winning the 800 in 2:30.9. The duo also teamed with Izzy Grosch and Laney Belcher to win the 4×800 relay in 11:13.

Other winners for the Lady Knights were Hialeah Stanton in the pole vault (6-6), Bryn Lindell in the high jump (4-7), Rosalie Rondeau in the triple jump (32-0) and Kaliann Waite in the shot put (27.5).
