Sheffield boys hoops falls at St. Marys
ST. MARYS — St. Marys used a 14-5 second quarter to pull away from Sheffield in a 46-30 Allegheny Mountain League crossover game on Monday at St. Marys High School.
“(We) had opportunities, just couldn’t capitalize,” said Sheffield coach Jordan Copley, whose Wolverines are 1-14 after their fifth-straight loss.
Lashawn Williams had 4 points and Aamond Bowman 3 for Sheffield in a first quarter in which they trailed just 13-11.
Colby Barr scored 9 second-half points, including 7 in the fourth quarter, but it was too little, too late.
Ben Paul led St. Marys (7-9) with 20 points.
Barr ended with 11 for the Wolverines and Nakes Holsey had 8.
