RUSSELL — The Eisenhower girls basketball team saw its six-game winning streak come to an end Monday night as it dropped a 48-32 Region 3 game to Seneca.

The Lady Knights’ record now stands at 6-3 in the region and 14-3 overall, while Seneca improves to 8-1and 12-6.

“Seneca has a good team that is very balanced,” Eisenhower head coach D.J. Steinberg said. “They have a lot of girls that can score and, unfortunately, our shots were just not falling tonight. We were lazy on defense at times and good teams make you pay for that. We have some things to work on as we have another tough game coming up on Friday against Mercyhurst Prep.”

The game opened with both teams shooting well, and the Bobcats held a 17-13 lead after one quarter. The second quarter would decide the outcome as the Knights could not buy a basket and were outscored 14-2. The Bobcats took a 31-15 lead intot the break.

The two teams matched point for point in the second half, but Eisenhower could not make up for the damage done in the first half.
