Success for Kebort’s Karate Tigers

Members of Kebort’s Karate Tigers recently took high honors at the 51st annual Pennsylvania Karate Championships in New Kensington. From the left are Sensei-dai Malahki Schroder, who placed fifth in Blackbelt Men (18-34) Kumite, 10th in Men’s (18-34) Blackbelt Traditional Kata, and seventh in Men’s Blackbelt (18-34) Weapons for the 2024 season; Hanshi Christina Kebort, who placed first in Women’s Master Blackbelt Kata and Women’s Master Senior Kumite (Fighting), earning her the state champion title in those divisions for the 2024 season, and second in Women’s Master Blackbelt Weapons for 2024; and David Gray Jr., who placed first in Men’s Novice Kata (18-34) and Men’s Advanced Kata (18-34) to earn him the 2024 state champion title in those divisions for the 2024 season. Gray also placed second in Men’s Advanced Kumite (18-34) for 2024. At the tournament, Hanshi Kebort claimed second in Women’s Master Weapons, third in Women’s Master Kata and first in Senior Women’s Blackbelt Kumite; Gray was fourth in Men’s Advanced (18-34) Kumite; and Sensei-dai Schroder was fourth in (18-34) Adult Male Heavyweight Sparring. Not pictured is Devion Mosher, who placed fifth in (11-12) Novice Kata and third in (11-12) Male Novice Kumite for the 2024 season. He was a finalist at the tournament.
