Warren girls soccer takes down Franklin 7-2
FRANKLIN — Warren’s girls soccer team earned its eighth win in nine games on Saturday, 7-2 over Region 6-opponent Franklin.
“Meea Irwin scored four goals and added two assists to lead us in points once again,” said Warren coach Mark Ordiway, whose Dragons are 10-6 overall and 6-1 in the region. “Meea is now up to 52 goals for the season. According to MaxPreps, she is currently the number-one point and goal scorer in Pennsylvania. Fifty-two goals is more than most top goal scorers record in an entire career.
“Junior Peyton Wotorson has been a wonderful mid-season addition to the team,” added Ordiway. “She has worked her way into the starting lineup as our second forward and is playing well alongside Meea. Peyton has two goals and four assists in seven games played. You can see her confidence building each game.”
Wotorson had one goal and two assists against Franklin, Leyna Irwin two goals, and Charlotte Keeports added an assist in the win.
