Warren girls soccer back in win column
ST. MARYS — Warren’s girls soccer team won for the fifth time in six games on Tuesday with a 9-2 non-region win at St. Marys.
“Meea Irwin scored a first-half hat trick to lead us to a 5-0 halftime score,” said Warren coach Mark Ordiway. “Meea put a lot of pressure on their defense and ended with four goals and two assists. Leyna Irwin had a great all-around game with two goals and three assists.”
Madison Jones and Lani Wenzel added goals for Warren (7-6), and Peyton Wotorson had an assist.
“It was one of our cleaner-played games,” added Ordiway. “Our defense did a great job finding passes into the midfield. We had a lot of possession and were able to link passes together nicely. Lilly Stanley was exceptional in the midfield today on both sides of the ball.”
St. Marys is 4-9 overall.
