Girls 4th, boys 7th for Dragons cross country
WARMINSTER — Warren’s girls cross country team finished fourth out of 17 teams, and the boys seventh, at Saturday’s 68th annual William Tennent Cross Country Invitational.
For the Lady Dragons, Morgan Alexander was ninth out of 120 runners in the 5,000-meter run in 19:58. Cassidy Britton finished 22nd in 20:46, Leona Hovan 31st in 21:11, Emma Peterson 36th in 21:30, Riley Evan 54th in 21:57, Adison Cullers 67th in 22:35 and Rose Rioux 98th in 26:12.
Sam Lindell led Warren’s boys with an eighth-place finish out of 121 in 16:20. Other finishers for Warren were Cam Williams (39, 17:34), Cole Fitzgerald (40th, 17:39), Leyton Salvatore (59th, 18:18) and Grayson Collopy (81st, 19:52).
“We took a little trip to face some different, challenging competition,” said Warren coach Kevin Dustin. “It was a great course and it was fun to race some new schools. (I’m) very happy with where the kids are as we move into championship season.”
