Warren girls golf take 4th at Coudy Invite
COUDERSPORT — Warren’s girls golf team finished fourth out of six team’s at last week’s Coudersport Invitational at Coudersport Golf Club.
The Lady Dragons finished with a team score of 321. Jersey Shore (277) finished first, followed by Bradford (303), Oswayo Valley (312), Warren, Towanda (359), and Coudersport (392).
Individually, Warren’s Kate Shippee tied for sixth with an 18-hole 104. Bradford’s Payten Leet led the 31-player field with an 82. Jersey Shore’s Hannah Heaton was second with an 86. Rounding out the scoring for Warren was Elissa Errett 107, JoJo Gray 110, Allie Lauffenberger 117 and Lexi Paris 130.
“With the next (region) mega match a couple weeks away on September 17th, it was good to play another competition with such a long span between the mega matches,” said Warren coach Scott Pearson. “It was also nice to play competitors from out of our region and this course presented some new challenges as many of the holes had fairways that were sloped, elevated, and demanded course management in club selection and ball placement. Although we had many good shots, this course had lots of hazards and out of bounds, and our balls seemed to find a lot of them today.”
Warren will compete at Tam O’Shanter Invitational on Sept. 10 in Hermitage.
