Ike volleyball posts sweep

RUSSELL — The Eisenhower Lady Knight volleyball team was home this past Saturday as they welcomed Hickory and made quick work of the Hornets as they swept them in three straight games 26-24, 25-17 and 25-19.

“I thought we played very well today,” Eisenhower head coach Lori Pascuzzi stated. “A number of our girls really had good games, hopefully that sets a tone for the rest of the month for us.”

Senior Marissa Gourley led Eisenhower with nine kills and one ace, junior Lainey Font also had a nice day for the Lady Knights with six kills and a 100% serve ratio over the three games.

The Lady Knights also had strong games from senior Caroline Smyth who had four kills and three blocks, while sophomore Paisley Lawson had a good day with three kills and a pair of service aces.

Eisenhower is back on the court today when it travels to Northwestern for a match at 6 p.m.
