Eisenhower sweeps TCCS
RUSSELL — The Eisenhower Knights won their second match in a row at home as they defeated the Bulldogs of Tidioute Community Charter School 25-8, 25-9, 25-16 in nonregion volleyball Tuesday.
Eisenhower started the first game by going on a 5-1 run behind junior Lainey Font’s four service points, which would set the tone in the game as the Knights would open up a 12-4 lead and take the first game by a 25-8 score.
The second game was much of the same, behind the serving of Marissa Gourley, who would have four aces in the game. The Knights cruised to a 25-9 win.
The third game of the night saw the Bulldogs hang with Eisenhower as the score teetered back and forth with neither team getting more than a two-point lead. Knights sophomore Paisley Lawson had the hot serving hand as she had six aces in the third game to break open the score and lead the Knights to a 25-16 win.
Leading the way for Eisenhower was senior Caroline Smyth with eight kills and Font had three of her own. Lawson led Eisenhower with nine aces, Font contributed six and Gourley added four.
In jayvee action, Tidoute swept Eisenhower 25-14, 25-19.
TIDIOUTE WINS FIRST
Tidioute Community Charter School was able to pick up its first varsity win of the season last week 25-22, 31-29, 23-25, 25-22 over the Forest Area Fires.
Marlee Nuttall had four aces, a kill and seven digs; Katelyn Hart had three aces, five kills, four digs and a block; Ashleigh Johnson had two aces, two kills and 10 assists; Sophia Bereksazi had six aces, two kills, an assist and four digs; Hailey Paden had three aces, a kill and five digs; Lexi Hart had a dig; and Tegan Whiteman had three aces, two kills and three digs.
In jayvee action, Tidioute won its third match of the week 25-18, 27-25.
Bereksazi had four aces, two assists and three digs; Johnson had an ace, three assists and a dig; Paden had seven aces, five kills and two digs; Lexi Hart had an ace, a kill and a dig; Maddie Warham had an ace, two assists and a dig; and Whiteman had an ace, a kill and two digs.
