Junior high XC
Eisenhower’s junior high cross country teams each had a top 5 individual finisher on Sept. 21 at the Red Dragon Invitational at Bemus Point Golf Course.
In the modified 2-mile run, Joey Fanelli was a medal winner with a third-place finish out of 69 runners in 12:06. Other Knights included Benny Matson, 16th (award) in 14:04, Ramsey Williams (38th, 16:25), and Reid Mitchell (51st, 17:53).
For the Lady Knights, award winners included Josie Elms (fifth out of 45 in 14:45) and Hanna Lund (seventh in 15:05).
On Tuesday, Sept. 24, in a region meet at Seneca, Fanelli topped eight others to win on the course in 9:28, Matson was fifth in 11:38, Williams sixth in 12:08, and Mitchell eighth in 13:47. In the girls’ junior high race, Elms was third of five in 10:47, or just 15 seconds off the pace of first-place finisher Brea Kuhl of Seneca. Lund was fourth in 11:20.
Also on Tuesday at Betts Park, Beaty Warren eighth-grader Nina Woldt won the 2,800-meter run out of 11 in 11:44. Other Lady Dragons were Scotlyn Perry (fifth, 13:21), and Delaney Moore (sixth, 13:35).
In the boys’ race, Beaty’s Nathaniel Harris was seventh out of 22 in 10:57, Mason Warner eighth in 11:12, Levi Peterson ninth in 11:15, Ethan Gustafson 10th in 11:37, Dylan Shaffer 11th in 11:52, and Ashton Carrington 13th in 11:57. Other Dragons included Daniel Cull (16th, 12:24), Mason Chapman (18th, 12:34), Connor Schwabenbauer (19th, 12:37), Eli Lutton (20th, 13:47), Landon Lutton (21st, 14:40), and Trenton Wright (22nd, 15:41).
