Warren boys fall to General McLane 5-0

Warren’s boys soccer team lost its second straight game Thursday, 5-0 at War Memorial Field, to its second straight impressive opponent in General McLane.

“Overall, despite the score, I was happy with our defensive shape,” said Warren coach Steffen Blair, whose Dragons are 1-2 overall. “We asked a lot of Casey (Rich) and Brody (Alexander) on the outside and they were steady all game. Our backline has been really solid; we’re just putting ourselves in difficult spots and overcomplicating things as a team in possession. This game will always favor the team that takes care of the ball and we’re not doing that right now. We’re not at the level we need to be at yet, but there’s a lot to learn from this game and we’ll keep growing as a team.”

With General McLane controlling possession, center back Chase Sitler finished with 14 steals and Jack Lynds 14 saves in goal.
