Area athletes named Region 4 all-stars in 32 track & field events

Pictured is three-time first-team Region 4 All-Star Warren’s Lindsay Madigan.

When all was said and done, Warren’s girls Region 4 champion track and field team had a dozen athletes over 15 events named first- or second-team all-stars by the region’s coaches.

Sophomore Morgan Alexander was named a first-team all-star in the 1,600 and 3,200, junior Lindsay Madigan in the triple jump and javelin, senior Laney Gatto in pole vault, and senior Kylie Fehlman in shot put. Madigan and Gatto also join sophomores Lilly Newton and Maddie Nosel on the first-team 400-meter relay.

Freshman Brynn Norris was named to the second team in the 1,600, freshman Adison Cullers in the 300 hurdles, Newton in high jump, senior Aurora Feaster in shot put, and Fehlman added second-team nods in discus and javelin. The relay teams of Nosel, Newton, Cullers, and senior Tori McMichael in the 1,600 and Norris, Alexander, freshman Bella Campbell, and sophomore Riley Evan in the 3,200 also made the second team.

“We were well represented in the Region 4 all-star nominations,” said Warren coach Kevin Dustin. “We had a great season for both of our squads with the boys having one region loss and the girls going undefeated. These individuals and teams really showed up week after week to compete, contributing to the overall team’s success. They are putting work in year-round in this sport and other sports and it’s well deserved that they are being honored. Congratulations goes out to every individual on the all-star list, the Warren coaching staff is very proud of all of you. We look forward to continuing the success we are having in track and field.”

Also on the region’s first team, Youngsville sophomore Riley Robinault was named in the high jump. Eisenhower junior Emily Grosch, freshman Rosalie Rondeau, and junior Sophia Martin were named to the second team in the 800, triple jump and long jump, respectively.

Youngsville sophomore Ethan Beers was named a first-team region all-star in the triple jump and long jump and a second-team all-star in high jump.

While region-champion Seneca athletes littered the male all-stars, Warren junior Sam Lindell, Eisenhower junior Joe Mistretta, and Youngsville sophomore Ethan Beers were named first-team all-stars in two events each as underclassmen; Lindell in the 1,600 and 3,200, Mistretta in the 400 and 800, and Beers in the triple jump and long jump. Beers was also a second-team all-star in the high jump.

Other second-team all-stars from Warren County are Eisenhower junior Case Seymour in the high jump, and Youngsville freshman Chase Myers in both the 110 high and 300 low hurdles.

Warren topped off the list with three relay teams being named to the second team in Region 4, including the 400 relay team of senior Johnny Corbett, sophomore Jacob McMeans, and freshmen Adam Yeager and Amari White; the 1,600 relay team of Corbett, Lindell, and sophomores Quinn Norris and Logan Crissey; and the 3,200 relay team of Lindell, Norris, Crissey, and senior Matt Sowa.
