Myler named PSAC Men’s Tennis COY

Warren native and former WAHS tennis coach Travis Myler has been named PSAC Men’s Coach of the Year in his first season as Edinboro men’s and women’s head tennis coach.

Freshman Gordan Mileusnic was named PSAC Player of the Year, headlining six Edinboro players earning All-PSAC honors. The Scots finished the season 16-8 overall, winning their fourth straight PSAC title and advancing to the NCAA Championships for the second time in three seasons.

“I am amazed and honored to be where I am,” said Myler. “I am surrounded by exceptionally talented and dedicated student-athletes who want to be part of the best team they can be.”

Edinboro’s men’s tennis team saw its season come to an end in the first round of the NCAA Championships with a 4-0 loss to No. 1 seed Flagler in Altamonte Springs, Fla.

“Honestly, I’m struggling with imposter syndrome,” said Myler. “I think I found myself in the right place at the right time. I’m lucky to be here… I love this, apart from the time away from (wife) Jen and (son) Isaac. It’s been an amazing adventure and every day I consider myself the luckiest guy around.”

The Scots defeated Mercyhurst 4-0 in the Atlantic Region 2 final to earn their spot at the NCAA Division II Championships.

Myler played tennis at Edinboro from 1999-2003 under then head coach Andy Findlay.

“My greatest success on the college tennis court was reaching the ITA regional doubles semifinal in 2001 with (number-one player) Adam Bartsch (also from Warren),” said Myler.
