Ike falls to Saegertown in baseball finale 9-2

RUSSELL — The Eisenhower baseball team closed out its season Wednesday by dropping a 9-2 rain-shortened game to first-place Saegertown at Werner Park.

The visitors, who were outhit 5-4, got on the board first in the opening inning, scoring a pair of runs on a passed ball.

Eisenhower came right back in their half of the inning, scoring two runs on a two-run single by Camron Jakubczak to knot the score.

The Panthers opened the game up in the fourth inning when they scored six runs on three hits to take an 8-2 lead.

Play continued until thunder and a steady downpour forced the umpires to call the game after four innings.

The Knights were led by Jakubczak and his two-run single. Griffin Williams, Johnny Palmieri, Jarius Casey and Aaden Nichols each had a base hit for Eisenhower, which finishes the season 2-17.
