Warren’s boys and girls track and field teams are “coming into form,” according to head coach Kevin Dustin, following a sweep of Eisenhower on Tuesday at War Memorial Field.

“Today was a good day for both the girls and the boys teams coming away with wins,” said Dustin, whose Warren girls won 106-43 and boys won 86-60. “We had some district qualifiers come out of the meet as well. Great to see some kids really coming into form as we progress through the season.”

First-places finishes for the Lady Dragons included Lindsay Madigan in the 100-meter dash (13.29 seconds), triple jump (32-7.5), and javelin (99-6), Morgan Alexander in the 1,600 meters (6:02.29), Adison Cullers in the 300-meter hurdles (51.28), Emma Peterson in the 3,200 meters (13:55.55), Lilly Newton in the 400 meters (1:04.26) and high jump (5-0), Zoe Rodgers in discus (84-8), Laney Gatto, pole vault (8-6) and Kylie Fehlman, shot (29-11), while Warren won two of three relays.

In Warren’s boys win, Johnny Corbett won the 100 meters (12.45 seconds to Adam Yeager’s 12.49), Scott Nichols, 110-meter hurdles (19.93) and 300-meter hurdles (50.03), Sam Lindell 1,600 meters (4:49.65 to Quinn Norris’ 4:51.59), Logan Crissey, 400 meters (58.33), Alex Gulnac, discus (1:01.09), Lucas Douvlos, javelin (123-2) and Parker Anderson, shot (37-7.5), while the Dragons won two of three relays.

Despite the losses, Eisenhower coach Jimmy Schrecongost was “very proud of how our team competed and pulled together as a team on the girls and boys side. We had a bunch of district qualifiers, some in events they have never done before. We had the girls 4×4 team qualify for districts, Emily Grosch in the 800 meters, Laney Belcher in the 400 meters. Boys, Joe Mistretta in the 800 meters, Case Seymour in triple jump. We are seeing personal-bests in all events jumping, throwing, and on the track and are very excited to go to Harbor Creek on Saturday. Hopefully we will see more qualify at Harbor Creek.”

For Ike’s boys team, Easton Fitzgerald won the 200 meters (25.52 seconds to Corbett’s 25.77), Joe Gigliotti in the 3,200 meters (11:39.82), Joe Mistretta in the 800 meters (2:05.24 to Lindell’s 2:11.83), Case Seymour and Bryceton Wilkins both jumped 5-6 in the high jump, and Seymour won the long jump in 18-8 and Wilkins the pole vault in 7-6. For three wins, Seymour also won the triple jump in 39-3.
