MEADVILLE — The Warren Dragons didn’t score 30 points in the first quarter this time, but Logan Crissey’s 3-pointer gave Warren a 14-8 lead it would build on.
By the time Thursday’s District 10 4A first-round playoff game at Meadville Area Senior High was over, the Dragons moved on with a 72-52 win over Corry.
“With this being the third time we played them, we were expecting something different and we got that tonight from them both defensively and offensively,” said Warren coach Jeff Berdine, whose Dragons are 18-5 overall. “We did prepare for their 1-3-1 (defense) based on them running it in the past a lot. I didn’t think that they would try to hold the ball as much as they did in the first half, but I understand the thought.”
By halftime, Brady Berdine had scored 12 points, Konnor Hoffman 11 and Logan Crissey 8, and Warren led 35-18.
Hoffman finished with a season-high 22 points, Berdine 18, Braylon Barnes 13 points in the win. Hoffman had three 3-pointers, Crissey two, and Tommy Nyquist, Barnes and Lucas Thrift one each for the Dragons.

Markus Lambert was most of Corry’s offense with 23 points for the Beavers, whose season ends at 13-10 with three of those losses to the Dragons.
Grove City pulled away from Harbor Creek earlier on Thursday at MASH, so the Dragons will meet the Eagles on Tuesday in the semifinals at a site and time to be determined.
“The kids had an opportunity to watch Grove City tonight, so we’ll break them down on film and expect a very physical game on Tuesday,” said coach Berdine.
