HUBBARD, Ohio — Warren’s Lady Dragons wrestling team finished 10th out of 35 teams on Sunday at the fourth annual Hubbard Girls Wrestling Tournament at Hubbard High School.

That was 10th place with only three wrestlers. It just so happens that all three earned medals this weekend, including Jenna Kophazy, who won the 120-pound bracket. Teammate Kasey Kophazy took fourth place at 130 pounds and Katrina Seamens third at 155; both girls earned a bronze medal.

“Jenna wrestled phenomenally well,” said Warren coach Garrett Smead. “All three of the girls did… We’ve made improvements this weekend, but still have to improve on our lesser strengths as we get closer to the postseason. I’m extremely proud of these girls and of what they’ve accomplished. Tying for 10th place at a tournament with 35 full teams — with only three girls competing — is a statement that young girls throughout Warren County, the state of Pennsylvania, and across the country can accomplish great things in the sport of wrestling.”
