Special Olympians compete at Slippery Rock University

Seventeen athletes from Warren County Special Olympics competed in the Special Olympics of Pennsylvania’s Western Fall Sectionals on Sunday at Slippery Rock University.
Over 500 athletes and 200 volunteers from western Pennsylvania competed in bocce, volleyball, flag football, power lifting, soccer and long-distance running/walking. Warren County athletes competed in bocce and one in long-distance walking.
Results in bocce included:
Division 1: Kyle Burge and Kyle Fortman, third place;
Division 2: Mike Gray and Justin Allen, second place;
Division 3: Kayla Smith and Cindy Zaffino, first place;
Division 4: Conner Campbell and Bethany Roberts, first place, and Brenda Huya and Samantha Miller, third place;
Division 5: Jolee Rutenber and Shirley Petko, second place;
Division 6: Colton Ristau and Eric Irons, first place, and;
Division 7: Andrew Theim and Joan Butler, third place.
Maddison Young placed fifth in long-distance walking.
