The Eisenhower Knights cross country team traveled to Sharon on Saturday where they were one of 27 teams competing in the Blue Devil Invitational which was held at Buhl Park.

The Knights’ Joe Mistretta was the lone medal winner for Eisenhower as he finished in 37th place, covering the 3.1 mile course in 17:27. Overall, the Knights came in 23rd as a team.

“Our athletes did well on Saturday,” Eisenhower head coach Darlene Beach said about her team’s showing. “Our kids who had competed here before all improved on their previous times. Our new runners gained the experience of competing in a big invitational. I was with both Joe (Mistretta) and Emily (Grosch) both meeting team milestones.”

The top finisher for the girls was Emily Grosch in 67th place with a time of 21:59, but as a team the girls took 19th place out of 25 teams.
