Warren takes 4th at Grape Picker golf invite

NORTH EAST — Warren finished fourth out of 12 teams on Thursday at the Grape Picker Golf Invitational, hosted by North East at Lake View Country Club.

The Dragons didn’t shoot as well as they had earlier in the week, but still managed the top Class AAA team score. Warren leads the Region 6 standings after two mega matches. On Thursday, 2A Grove City led the team standings with a four-person 341. 2A Clarion finished second at 345, 2A Fairview third at 346, and Warren fourth at 350. Other scores included General McLane with 353, Lakeview 355, Cathedral Prep 362, McDowell 376, Fort LeBoeuf and Oil City both at 377, North East 380, and Mercyhurst Prep 385.

Braddock Damore led Warren with an 18-hole 84, followed by Brady Berdine’s 86, Reid Olsen’s 89, Conner Zaffino’s 91, and Johnny Palmieri’s 93.

Clarion’s Kameron Karle was medalist at 78, and North East’s Leyton Hassenplug was the only other golfer to break an 80 with his 79. Fairview’s Anthony Laboda was third at 80.
