JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — The dugout had emptied, but before John Bell left the field at Diethrick Park, he posed for a photo.

For the Norwalk, Connecticut manager, it was a picture-perfect way to end his Tuesday morning.

David Harry smacked a two-run single and Aidan Brehm drove in the go-ahead run on a fielder’s choice to cap a three-run rally to send the Tides to a 4-3 victory over Greenville, North Carolina in Game 13 of the Babe Ruth 13-15 World Series.

The win improved Norwalk’s record to 3-0, good for first place in the National Division. The New England Regional champions join Torrance, California as the only unbeaten teams in the 10-team tournament.

After 5 1/2 innings, there was some doubt whether Norwalk would stay undefeated after Greenville (1-2) scored two runs in the top of the sixth, courtesy of Suiter Howard’s two-run single, to take a 3-1 lead.

But the Tides didn’t flinch in the bottom of the inning.

Jacob Fields led off with a single and, with one out, Jaxon Ermo and winning pitcher Matt Weiss both singled to load the bases. That brought up Harry, who lined a single to center field off reliever Josh Roberson to tie the game. The next batter, Brehm, then drove in the go-ahead run with a groundout.

Norwalk opened the scoring in the second inning. With one out, Ermo reached on an error and later scored on Weiss’ single. Greenville tied it in the fourth on Howard’s single and then went ahead 3-1 in the sixth, but the lead didn’t last long as the Tides put together the game-winning rally in the bottom of the inning.

Weiss, the Ron Tellefsen Most Outstanding Player, retired Greenville in order in the top of the seventh, keeping Norwalk’s visit to Jamestown “perfect.” Weiss also helped his own cause with three hits.

Parker Williams pitched a strong game for Greenville, working 5 1/3 innings before being relieved by Roberson. Howard, the Tellefsen Most Outstanding Player for the Southeast Regional champions, had two hits and three RBIs.
