Spiridon Jr. adds HOF induction to trap resume
DEAN SPIRIDON JR.
WINCHESTER, Va. — A Warren native has received the ultimate recognition for his trapshooting prowess.
Dean Spiridon Jr. was inducted into the Virginia Trapshooting Hall of Fame earlier this month in recognition of his shooting ability and for his work in furthering trapshooting for generations to come. A four-time ATA All-American, Spiridon has been selected to state teams in Virginia and Pennsylvania numerous times.
In addition, he has captured four Grand American titles and 13 in the Eastern Zone; claimed 45 trophies at various state shoots; many more from other shoots; and has shot more than 112,000 targets.
Spiridon, who has also served on the board of directors of the Virginia Trapshooting Hall of Fame, has given back to the sport he loves. In 2014, he started a youth shooting team at his local club that has grown into the Virginia Youth Trap League that now covers the entire state.
Locally, Spiridon has shot in the Warren County Summer Trap League and the Penn York Winter League while growing up in Warren.
