‘Lots of personal-bests’ for Warren athletes at Oil Country Invitational

OIL CITY — “Lots of personal-bests” for Warren’s track and field athletes, according to head coach Kevin Dustin, at Saturday’s Oil Country Invitational at Oil City High School.

Freshman Jenna Kophazy was fourth out of 36 in javelin with a throw of 97 feet, 4 inches. Teammate Grace Carr finished 10th.

Kophazy was also 11th out of 28 in triple jump.

Laney Gatto was 10th in the finals of the 100-meter dash out of 30 preliminary sprinters.

Tori McMichael was 13th of 37 in the 400, and Ellie Yeager and Alexia Bowers 10th and 11th, respectively, out of 27 in the 300 hurdles.

Laney Gatto’s 8-6 height was good for fourth out of 16 in pole vault.

Katrina Seamens was 12th out of 38 in discus.

For the Dragon boys, Corban Reinard was fifth out of 33 in the 800 in 2:07.94, and teammate Cam Williams finished 11th.

Parker Anderson was sixth of 45 in shot at 40-4.75.

“PR for Laney Gatto in 100, Jenna Kophazy in triple (jump) and javelin, Louis Flatt in 1,600, Corban Reinard in 800 (district-qualifier), Cam Williams in 800 and 300 hurdles, and Luc Wilkins in 110 hurdles and 300 hurdles,” added Dustin.
