Warren tennis wins

Warren’s boys tennis team is 3-0 in Region 1 after a 4-1 victory over Titusville on Wednesday at Betts Park.

“We were able to adjust our lineup and work some of our younger guys into the match,” said Warren coach Travis Myler, whose Dragons are 5-2 overall. “(Coach Thomas Pellegrino and I are) really happy with everyone’s progress so far this year. Being able to start 12 different players so far has been awesome.”

On Wednesday, senior Mark Lynds defeated Lance Enright, 6-1, 6-1, at first singles. At No. 2 singles, the Rockets’ Zach Wooten topped Hugh Harrison, 6-2, 6-4. At No. 3 singles, Warren’s Adam Strandburg swept Andru Mott, 6-0, 6-0.

In doubles play, Warren’s Jack Lynds and Colin Ellis defeated Chloe Preston and Jacob Knapp, 6-1, 6-0. Carson Moore and Ben Scott beat Titusville’s Aubree Colie and Alana Jackson, 6-0, 6-2.
