Warren wrestlers sent to consolation rounds
SHARON — All three Warren wrestlers were knocked to Saturday’s consolation rounds after day one of the Northwest Region Class 2A Wrestling Championships on Friday at Sharon High School.
Sophomore Adika Fiscus (27-10) was 1-1 at 107 pounds on Friday with an opening 2-0 decision over Harbor Creek freshman Hunter Chew (27-12). Fiscus got stuck in the second round (3:43) in the Districts 9/10 tournament by D9 champ Dalton Wenner (29-3) of Cranberry.
Warren junior Ryan Fitzsimmons (114 pounds) and senior Evan Swanson (172 pounds) lost their first matches by major decision and pin, respectively.
The top four places at each weight will advance to the state tournament next weekend in Hershey.
