Warren wrestlers fall to Titusville

TITUSVILLE — Titusville went up 42-0 before Warren got on the board in the Rockets’ 51-13 Region 3 victory on Saturday.

“We had a few bright spots on the day,” said Warren coach Glenn Baldensperger. “Evan Swanson — bumping up from his normal 160 slot to 189 — wrestled really well before being caught and pinned in the third. Joe (Krall) got us going with a second-period fall. Watch for him to be one of the faces of the program over the next few years. Adika (Fiscus) had a convincing win at 109 to improve his record to 21-6 on the season. Ryan (Fitzsimmons) controlled his opponent on his way to a major decision.

“We had three wrestlers not make weight, which was extremely discouraging,” said Baldensperger. “The weight-making is one of the things that separates our sport from most. It requires discipline and, when managed properly, is not an issue. We will try to move past that and be ready for this weekend ‘s sectional.”
