Youngsville girls can’t keep up with Cambridge Springs
YOUNGSVILLE — To their credit, the Youngsville Eagles never quit, even in the toughest of situations.
One of those situations came Monday night during a 66-23 Region 2 loss to Cambridge Springs at Youngsville High School.
The Devils dominated from the opening tip, leading the contest by a score of 37-2 at one point. Led by 3-pointers from Ashlee Peterson, Olivia Darling and Kahlynne May, Youngsville more than held its own the rest of the way.
Freshman Riley Robinault again led the Eagles’ effort with 8 points — half of them coming in the final quarter. Darling finished with 7 points, Peterson and May had 3 apiece, and Shea Walton also found the scoring column for Youngsville.
The Eagles will try to shake off the disappointing loss when they return to the court Thursday, hosting Union City.
