Lady Dragons roll to fourth win

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — Warren’s girls basketball team outscored Ellicottville in every quarter of a 64-36 win on the first day of the JCC Showcase at Jamestown Community College on Tuesday.

Eight Lady Dragons scored in the rout, led by junior point guard Sammie Ruhlman’s 15 points.

Ruhlman and freshman teammate Meea Irwin scored six points each in a 20-point second quarter.

Ruhlman added seven assists and seven steals for Warren (4-4).

Ellicottville (NY) was a replacement for Sacred Heart Academy, which couldn’t get out of snowy Buffalo.

“A little rusty coming out of break, but overall a good effort,” said Warren coach Lisa LaVan. “Brick by brick, we are building and growing this team.”

Irwin finished with 11 points, Gracie Ruhlman nine, Alana Stuart eight, Peyton Wotorson seven, Alyssa Farr six, and Halle Kuzminski had six points and 10 rebounds.

Warren plays Panama (NY) on day two of the JCC Showcase.
