4 Ike wrestlers take first in Southern Tier Wrestling Officials Association tourney

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. -- The Eisenhower Knights wrestling team traveled to Jamestown Community College to compete in the Southern Tier Wrestling Officials Association tournament on Saturday, eight teams from northwestern Pennsylvania and the southern tier of New York competed and the Knights brought home four champion wrestlers.
The Knights rebounded nicely from their match against Corry last week as the Eisenhower wrestlers that got a delayed start to the season due to the football team's success are starting to work into wrestling shape.
The Eisenhower wrestlers who captured first place was senior Mike Vanatta at 285-pounds with a 4-0 record. Juniors Ryan Chambers at 126-pounds and a 4-0 mark on the day, Shawn Pascuzzi at 152-pounds 4-0, and at 160-pounds Tucker Lindell also 4-0. All of them won their matches by pins. Also placing for the Knights was senior Benji Bauer who took third place and freshmen Shawn Miller at 102-pounds took fourth place and at 160-pounds was Bryceton Wilkins.
"I was proud of the team," Eisenhower head wrestling coach Jared Lindell stated. "They rebounded nicely from last week, we are starting to get the rust knocked off and into wrestling mode."
