Warren volleyball sweeps Titusville

Warren’s girls volleyball team opened with a 3-0 sweep of Titusville on Thursday at Warren Area High School.

“The varsity got off to a good start to the season,” said Warren coach Mike Dolan of the 25-12, 25-9, 25-15 win. “I thought we played well, controlled the ball, and stayed on the attack. Our outsides, Maddy Jones and Alexia Bowers, did a nice job taking good effective swings. Lindsay Madigan ran the offense well.”

Jones had six kills and two aces, Bowers five kills, two aces and a block, and Madigan 20 assists and three aces. Carly Beers and Kylie Fehlman added four kills each and Fehlman contributed two blocks. Kirsten Johnson led with six service aces and added three kills.

In a 25-17, 25-19 junior varsity win for Warren, Delaney Wright had 13 assists, Lilly Newton five kills, Lauren Fajbik two kills, Maddie Nosel two kills and three aces, Lauren Shattuck two aces, and Lily Walker two kills and three digs.
