Fairview sweeps Warren girls 5-0
FAIRVIEW — Warren’s girls tennis team ran into red-hot Fairview on Thursday, getting swept 5-0 on the road.
At top singles, Iris Kiehl lost to Vivian Lou 0-6, 2-6. Grace Carr fell 0-6, 1-6 to Trinity Fox, and Lucy Harrison fell 0-6, 3-6 to Hanna Nichols.
In doubles, Izzy Heacox and Kaelin Hatfield lost 4-6, 2-6 to Allie Mahoney and Kaylnn Burns. Tasha Ferry and Sydnie Cochran lost 4-6, 3-6 to Lydia Soltis and Delaney Gehrlain.
“Fairview has a rock-solid lineup this year and it wouldn’t shock me if they go undefeated on the season,” said Warren coach Thomas Pellegrino. “I do think we came out a little flat, though, and once we got down early, Fairview didn’t take their foot off the gas.”
Warren looks to bounce back at 11 a.m. Saturday at Betts Park in a big match-up against last year’s District 10 runner-up Grove City.
