JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — The Jamestown Tarp Skunks completed a perfect holiday weekend.

Sparked by another strong pitching performance by Travis Perry and two hits apiece by Johnny Kampes and Henry Martinez, Jamestown defeated Auburn 5-2 in a Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League game at Diethrick Park on Monday evening.

Perry worked six innings, gave up four hits, struck out six and walked two in raising his record to 3-2. Jamestown native Bryce Jackson, Eddie Galatas and Eric Crouse combined to pitch three innings of scoreless relief. Crouse earned his fifth save.

Offensively, Kampes and Martinez each drove in a run to go along with their two hits. Also recording RBIs were Trey Zeroski, Cody Bey, Jamestown Community College’s Nate Johnson and Will Dorrell.

The victory raised the Tarp Skunks’ record to 15-10 heading into an off day today. They are alone in third place behind Utica (20-6) and Batavia (15-7) in the West Division.

Jamestown will be back in action Wednesday when it travels to Mohawk Valley for a doubleheader. After another off day on Thursday, the Tarp Skunks will travel to Auburn on Friday before returning home for a 6:30 p.m. contest against Elmira on Saturday.
