Golf leagues

Skete Williams and Matt Johnson both shot a 32 for low gross in the A Flight, and Fred Backhus, Ron Irwin, Mike Moyer Sr. and Patrick Henry each a 34 for low gross in the B Flight to highlight the Jackson Valley Golf Club Monday Night League.

In the A Flight, Casey Moyer and Bill Andrews had a 31 for low net, while, in the B Flight, John Aldrich and Ken Buford had the low net with a 33 apiece.

The teams of Mickey Caldwell and Dean Clough, and Clayton Waddington and Jim Sudul finished with 25 points apiece to lead the Jackson Valley Golf Club Stableford League.

The teams of Bob Barney and Mike Moyer Sr., and Dan Brown and Bob Hamm had 22 points apiece.

Mike Moyer Sr. (white tees) and Doyle Cribbs and Jim Sudul (gold tees) had the high individual points with 16 and 15 respectively.

Margie Cerra fired a 43 for low-gross honors, a 33 for low net and she won the tournament (score on first three holes) with a 15 to pace the Blueberry Hill Ladies League.

Deb Niederriter had a 46 gross and a 34 net. In the tournament, Sharon Birtcil and Barb Hill finished tied for second with a 17.

In the B Flight, Deb Borst, Sally Moldovan and Jeana Morrison all shot a 48 to pace the gross scores, followed by Jody Christensen and Danell Sowers with a 49. Borst and Morrison led the net scores with a 32, followed by Sowers with a 34. Betsy Sobkowski (14) claimed first place in the tournament, followed by Borst, Rose Colucci, Moldovan and Sowers with 16 apiece.

Karen Beardsley had a gross 47 to lead the C Flight, two shots in front of Bev Eldridge Beardsley (29), and Jill Dart and Eldridge (32 apiece) led the way among net scores; and Beardsley and Dart (15), and Jill Morley (16) were the tournament winners in the first and second flights respectively.

Sue Shields shot a 48 and Deb Sumner a 51 to pace the D Flight gross scores and they finished one-two in the low net scores with a 29 and tied for first in the tournament with 17 apiece. Martha Betts and Jennie Caldwell both had a net 35 to lead the way. Placing second in the tournament with a 19 were Erika Alm, Martha Betts, Jennie Caldwell and Shelly Hoover.

In the E Flight, Kathy Blackman had the low gross (54) and low net (30) and tied with Grace Backstrom with a 17 in the tournament. Grace Backstrom had a 56 gross, Deb Olson had a 31 net, and Donna Herzog, Cindy Lodestro and Deb Mooney finished second in the tournament with 18 apiece.

Laura Ahl recorded the low gross in the F Flight with a 58, had the low net with a 29 and placed first in the tournament with 18. Beth Lundberg had the second-best gross (60) and net (31) scores, and was second in the tournament.

In the G Flight, Dot Bero and Judy Gibson tied for low-gross honors with a 63 apiece; and Sue Scalise was second with a 64. Bero had the low net (28) and Gibson and Scalise were three shots back with a 31 apiece. Tammy Lauger won the tournament with a 20, one shot better than Scalise.

Backstrom had the longest putt on No. 10.
