Eisenhower closed out its baseball season Tuesday, dropping two games to Cambridge Springs at Werner Park.
The first game — the completion of a weather-related suspended game — the Knights fell 9-2, and in the second game they lost 17-5 and finished the season 1-14.
Cameron Jakubczack had three hits and drove in both runs for Eisenhower in the first game in support of pitcher Shawn Pascuzzi.
“For a rookie pitcher, Shawn threw very well,” Knights coach Clint Corse said. “I’m looking forward to seeing him step up and take on a more prominent role next season, and Cam just continues to get better every game.”
In the second game, Eisenhower struggled to get hits with runners in scoring position, but Jakubczack continued his strong offensive game with four hits and two RBIs to lead a 15-hit attack. Zack Jerman and Cole Chapman contributed three and two hits respectively; and Jarius Casey, in his first start of the season, had a pair of doubles.
“I’m proud of this team,” Corse said. “We had a very young squad with only two seniors, and they really stepped up and led the team. I’m excited for next year.”
