Kane, Cambridge Springs sweep Knights

RUSSELL -- Eisenhower dropped both games Saturday in a rare doubleheader at Werner Park.
Kane won the first game 10-5 before Cambridge Springs won the second game 11-0.
Against Kane, Payton Frank pitched her first seven-inning complete game and took the loss for the Knights.
"I was proud of Payton. It was her first complete game pitching and she had good movement on the ball all day," Eisenhower head coach Rich Pascuzzi said. "She will only get better."
Offensively, the Knights were led by Julia Gesing and Taylor Napolitan, who had two hits and two RBIs apiece.
"We hit the ball well, we just need to be more consistent with runners on," Pascuzzi said. "Mother Nature hasn't helped us with not being able to practice much outside."
In the second game, Taylor Napolitan took the complete-game loss in the circle for the Knights.
"Our fielding was batter, but the grand slam over the fence just broke our backs," Pascuzzi said. "I'm proud of the girls. Our young players are stepping up and getting better. As they improve, so will our play."
Hailee Rogers struck out 10 for Cambridge Springs.
"We just could not generate any offense against a very good pitcher," Pascuzzi said. "When we did make contact, they were not base hits."
